The Story
Ballet is for Everyone brings to life the wonderful and welcoming world of ballet. Within these pages, readers will learn that the beauty of ballet is meant to be shared with anyone and everyone, and this story of friendship and fun will surely make any reader want to put on their ballet slippers and start dancing.
The Development
Written by Rachel Garnet and Illustrated by Nifty Illustrations, this story was created from the deepest love for ballet and the wish to share it with everyone. Rachel fell in love with ballet when she was 14 years old, but when she started taking class she was told that she was too old to ever be able to catch up.
This reaction was disheartening but it did not stop Rachel from taking class with students 5 years younger than herself in order to start learning. Slowly, Rachel built up her skills and let her love of ballet drive her forward. When Rachel moved to Vancouver, Canada she began studying ballet though the Royal Academy of Dance, and finally felt like she was supported by teachers who didn’t care about her age. They just wanted to foster her passion. Rachel eventually would achieve the Advanced Foundation Certificate through the Royal Academy of Dance. Today Rachel is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
